Monthly Print Club
Our Print Club runs on the last Thursday of the month. Sometimes this may change. If it does, we will announce it here.
If you have an interest in Print Making in any of its many forms, then come along. Meet other like minded people. We have people of all abilities and at different stages of their printmaking journey. Beginners and more advanced, we welcome you to come along.
You may just want a couple of hours to work on a project whilst being able to talk to other creatives. You might want to discuss and share tips and tricks of printmaking processes. It may be that you would like to collaborate with others to have an exhibition or have a space to hire for workshops of your own. Sometimes it's just nice to have some company whilst doing some work. Sometimes we organise an activity to do whilst we are there and other times we decide as a group something to work on to bring in and show off.
NEXT PRINT CLUB IS THURSDAY JANUARY 30TH 6 - 8PM.
Print Club Prompt
We think it can be helpful to have a prompt for our Print Clubbers to make a start on a project. There is no pressure to create anything, only for it to stimulate creativity. The current prompt is 'The written word' to be interpreted in any way. This could be about song lyrics, a poem or a story to name a few potential ideas. There is no size restriction or restrictions to print process. We would love to see your results.
Whatever the reason, we would love to see you on Thursday. If you can make it, let us know by emailing us here, or drop us a DM on Instagram or Facebook.
Lets create a community of Print Makers in our area!

Here are some images of what we have done at Print Club;
Collaborative lino print concertina book on the theme of 'Feast'
We spent Septembers Print Club starting to plan and carve the 10 x 10cm lino piece. In October, we started to print the lino pieces into big posters. Everyone had the opportunity to print the lino pieces in the order they wanted to make their A1 poster. In November we turned the pre printed book pages into a hard backed concertina book each and even had a go at screenprinting an inside index page.
'Space'
The prompt was 'Space' to be interpreted in any way.
Fossil Book
The prompt for this book was 'Fossil'. We Had a fantastic response for this one from our Print Clubbers.
Leap Year prints
As its a leap year and our Print Club falls on February 29th, we based our latest prints on the theme 'Leap'.
Fish themed Book
We had a print prompt 'fish' which we could interpret in what ever way we wanted in print. The only 'rule' was that it had to be A5 in size with a 1 inch border that would be for the binding of the book we were making them into. Everyone printed at least 20 prints of their fish edition so that everyone could have one each and make them into a book. We spent our January print club meet up binding our prints into books.
Here are all of the individual fish themed prints submitted for the book. There are a range of processes including lino, drypoint, gel plate, screen print and digital printing.
Secret Santa printed card swap
We each printed a Christmas card, bought it along to Print Club and had a lucky dip swap!
Map Project
We had some old maps that we each took one to work into, onto in whichever way we wanted. There was a diverse range of outcomes just from a map!
Embossed Wire Portraits
Starting with some soft modelling wire and some portrait imagery, we looked at manipulating the wire into shapes and popping them through the press with damp paper. Imaginations grew from portraits into other shapes and body parts!
North Somerset Arts Exhibition
We coincided our Aprils Print Club with an exhibition Private View. We had an exhibition of printed artworks by our Print Clubbers. Many of which had not showed their work before. This was a great opportunity for them to show off their work, sell their work and increase confidence in their abilities as a printmaker. It was a great success and we sold a lot of work to the public as a result. Well done everyone!
Homemade roller printing
We made our own rollers from pipe foam protector, cutting patterns in them to print. These are the patterns we made.
